Custom themes, brand-led and performance-engineered.
Custom themes on Online Store 2.0 or Hydrogen — designed for brand expression and engineered for performance.
Designed to express, built to perform.
- Custom design — desktop, mobile, tablet
- Online Store 2.0 or Hydrogen build
- Merchant-friendly content model
- Performance & accessibility baked in
Themes built for the people who merchandise them.
A theme is not a design deliverable — it's an interface your team uses every week. We build for the second year, not the launch screenshot.
Design system before templates
Tokens, components, and states first, so the theme is consistent by construction rather than by discipline. It also means design changes stay cheap.
Sections everywhere, sensibly
Online Store 2.0 sections and blocks so merchandisers can build pages without a developer — but scoped, with sane defaults, so the store can't be accidentally broken.
Performance as a constraint, not a phase
Core Web Vitals budgets set at the start and held: image strategy, script discipline, lazy-loading, and honesty about which third-party tags actually earn their weight.
Accessible by default
WCAG 2.2 AA — keyboard paths, focus states, contrast, and semantics baked into the components, so accessibility isn't a remediation project later.
Documented handover
How the sections work, what each setting does, and where the edges are — so your team can run it without reverse-engineering someone else's Liquid.
Questions we get.
Custom theme or a premium theme, customised?
A good premium theme is a real option when the storefront is conventional and speed matters more than differentiation. Custom earns its cost when merchandising is unusual, the brand needs to be unmistakable, or performance demands control. We'll say which one fits.
Online Store 2.0 or Hydrogen?
OS 2.0 for the vast majority — it's fast, merchandiser-friendly, and cheap to own. Hydrogen when you genuinely need custom rendering or a composable front end, and have the engineering appetite to maintain one.
Will our team be able to edit it?
That's the point. Sections and blocks are scoped so non-developers can build and reorder pages safely, and the handover documents every setting.
Do you fix existing themes?
Yes — performance work, accessibility remediation, and section refactors on themes we didn't build are a common starting point.
